General

  • Generally popular caravan and camping areas.
  • Korogoro Creek - with the entrance always open and navigable, and the continental shelf-break only 20 km offshore, the waterway is popular for launching of game fishing boats.

This estuary falls in the area covered by Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority.

Korogoro Creek

Current Situation

Kempsey Shire Council has formed an Estuary Management Committee to allow community input into the management of all its estuaries. Council is currently preparing estuary management plans for Killick and Saltwater Creeks. Once these are finalised Korogoro Creek is seen as a high priority for the preparation of a management plan.
