Physical Features

Nadgee Lake and River are two separate estuaries in the Nadgee Nature Reserve, just north of the Victorian Border. Both are relatively inaccessible with access only by foot. Nadgee Lake is generally closed. Nadgee River with a much larger catchment is intermitently open. Nadgee River enters the ocean at Nadgee Beach, 8 km north of the Victoria State border. Nadgee Lake, which does not share its 16 km2 catchment with its namesake river, has its entrance between the Nadgee River entrance and the State border.
